About Us

Clarke Glatt, our company's namesake and resident visionary, has been in the business of crafting and expertly refashioning your optical accessories for over three decades now.  After cutting his teeth in an extensive four year apprenticeship in the Clearwater area, Clarke quickly earned his license in 1980 and tried his skilled hand at outside sales for the ensuing decade.  Along the way he gained invaluable knowledge of the inner workings of our expansive vendor network and their numerous product lines.  However, there was one thing that kept gnawing at him: Whatever happened to the fundamental delivery of exceptional customer service?  Ever a man of action, it didn't take Clarke long to purchase an optical business at the first quality opportunity that arose.  His ambition, training, experience and vision of what an optical services provider should be, drove Clarke to make a difference; to invest hard fought time and care in establishing Clarke’s Hunt Club Optical as one of the area’s top tier optical services providers, by offering the widest possible array of products and services at reasonable prices, all while setting the new standard of exceptional, uncompromising service quality that our community rightfully deserves.  And, by surrounding himself with an incomparable, like-minded team, he’s proudly done just that.

David Solis, the force that keeps our company’s feet firmly planted on the ground, accepted a job offer in his younger days from a friend’s dad, an Optometrist, because dear old dad “needed some help in the lab.”  Before long, this lab helper role blossomed into a rare opportunity for David.  He quickly realized that he’d found where his interests and, more importantly, his skills lie - his passion for the craft was born.  David’s knowledge grew exponentially, fueled by his hard work and dedication, and his part-time job soon morphed into a full on apprenticeship.  Four years later, in 1980, David earned his license from the Florida Board of Opticianry; he and Clarke actually studied for the exam together.  David has been sharing his immense talents in designing, crafting and customizing your optical goods ever since.  And his unquenchable thirsts for knowledge and forward progress ensure that he’s always up to date on the latest trends, fashions and industry techniques.  Armed with the latest and greatest technology and tools here at Clarke’s Hunt Club Optical, David ensures full and complete satisfaction of all your optical needs.
